Sydneys Vivid Festival is a wonderful opportunity to create some great images, with parts of the city lit up with amazing displays of light.  At Circular Quay both the Sydney Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art have a rolling pattern of images moving a swirling over them through the night.

Along with these two buildings, there are other displays through the city, including the Botanic Gardens, The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and Town Hall. Be prepared to do some walking around the city to get to all of these locations, but make sure you can spend enough time at each location to explore and enjoy the art.

Light Swing at VividNot all the displays involve large buildings and quite a lot of them you can get involved with yourself.

Along the shore of Circular Quay, we found these swings, which you could line up for and take a turn yourself.  A perfect chance to catch to motion in light with a long exposure.  This was the Freedom of Movement display, but we didn’t see them do a full 360 that they show on the events page.

Vivid Sydney is a must do not only to create some great images but just for the enjoyment of the light displays around the city.  A must do, and it’s there from 26th May to 17th June 2017.
