Another great afternoon on the annual Scott Kelby World Wide Photowalk. We had a beautiful sunny afternoon in Newcastle Australia, as we wandered around the streets, beaches and waterfront of the city. These World Wide Photowalks are a great opportunity to meet other local photogs as well as capture some great images. This is the third walk that I have been on, and its always been a good day, in part because of the nature of the event, but certainly down to some good organising by Stewart Hazell our local walk leader.
This year we kicked off at the stairs down to The Foreshore Park, and headed off towards Newcastle Beach and its Ocean baths. A bunch of photographers suddenly appearing at the baths always draws attention, but for the most part it is taken in stride and some of the bathers join in the fun of the walk and pose for photos.
After the baths we walked around Shortland Esplenade to Nobbys Beach, and the entrance to Newcastle harbour, then followed along the harbour foreshore. We then turned back in to the streets, passing by Civic Park and back towards our starting point.
I’d encourage anyone with an interest in photography to come along next year. There are all range of people, cameras and skill levels, and no one is bothered by any of it. Just sign up, then turn up with your camera for a good afternoon. Stay tuned for next years walk….
